Ewpple - What is an ETF index fund?
- Index fund or Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracks specific indexes, such as stocks, REITs, bonds, or other financial indices.
- Each ETF is composed of a portfolio of financial assets similar to the components of the index it tracks.
- ETFs are listed on exchanges.
- Just like any other company stock, it is traded throughout the day on the stock market.
- It mimics the price movement of the underlying index.
- Instead of being driven by trading momentum, the ETF price closely reflects the fund's net asset value (NAV).
- Among ETFs, SPY, IVV & VOO track S&P 500 index, and QQQ tracks Nasdaq 100 index.
